Audi has unveiled the refreshed Q7 TFSI e quattro and Q8 TFSI e quattro, introducing enhancements to their plug-in hybrid powertrains aimed at bolstering their eco-friendly credentials.

At the heart of these crossovers lies a new 25.9 kWh battery pack, a significant upgrade that significantly extends their electric-only range. According to WLTP standards, the updated models can now travel up to 85 kilometers solely on electric power, marking a notable improvement.

Complementing the enlarged battery is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine paired with a modified electric motor seamlessly integrated into an eight-speed automatic transmission. This configuration propels the 55 TFSI e quattro variants to a combined output of 389 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque, facilitating brisk acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in a respectable 5.7 seconds.

For those craving even more spirited performance, the 60 TFSI e quattro boasts a "newly designed electric motor" that elevates the combined power output to an impressive 483 horsepower and 700 Nm of torque. This translates to a quicker 0-100 km/h sprint of just five seconds flat.

Irrespective of the selected variant, Audi has enforced an electronically limited top speed of 240 km/h for both models. Additionally, these plug-in hybrids offer a charging capacity of up to 7.4 kW, enabling the battery to be fully replenished in approximately three hours and 45 minutes.

Beyond powertrain enhancements, Audi has refined the EV mode to prioritize battery-powered propulsion even under full acceleration. Furthermore, adjustments to the charge mode aim to optimize efficiency and minimize reliance on the combustion engine, further enhancing the overall eco-friendly performance of these vehicles.
